Well I did not expect that ending at all. This series has been a wild ride from beginning to end, well done to everyone involved on camera and behind the scenes.

I'm sorry... but that ending. I do not want to go into details, as to not spoil the episode for everyone. But, it was upsetting to say the least. Can you please explain why you chose to end it this way? I enjoyed the series, especially the depth in episode 4.

The series is inspired by The White Lotus. Just like The White Lotus, episode 1 opens with a death. As you'll remember, Marco gets a call telling him that there's a body. Then, the screen flashes to "one week earlier"... so the entire series is a build up to an eventual death. Not all tales are happily ever after, but I hope you got some food for thought along the way!

Congratulations, Himeros & Alt Shift! Davey, this was spectacular! Loved the intertwined characters, the sex, and the life truths. I’m so glad you dived into this with your whole self. Looking forward to Season Two! Come on Davey - I know you want to go another round!

David well done my man! This was perfect in every way except for the last scene. Question: Was that Marco in bed awakened by the shot? As the proprietor of a hotel he would have gone and investigated and therefore discovered the body before the phone call in the morning. Question: The masseuse, also heard the shot and didn't investigate or come get Marco and tell him about the shot? Question: When Caleb was wrapped in the blanket sitting on the gutter I think, there was the blue flashing light. Was this an indication of police or ambulance on the scene? Then surely the proprietor would have been sought out? Now I can hear you say budget killed that one. Totally understandable. One way of removing Marco from the the resort so he was unaware of the previous nights drama. One small scene of Marco saying he needed to go into to town and get some supplies, or get away after fucking Jack to clear his head or something. A small throwaway scene even on the phone to the Masseuse so the audience knows he wasn't there during the drama. Or even better when the he answers the phone in the last scene you add a line of dialogue. "I wasn't here last night. I went to get some supplies and was delayed and I've only just gotten back. What do you mean he's dead..." I know that you had to make sure all the players were there but we already knew who shot Jack. David I congratulate you on the content and I'm sure it will do extremely well on YouTube. Just cut out the fucking bits. The concepts of family, acceptance, narcissism, shame, self loathing, and trying to be someone were not. It's all there. You held a mirror up to being a faggot and sometimes it looked ugly. THANK YOU sweet man. It's visually stunning, the cinematography is perfect, shade and light used skilfully and creatively. I love the rainbow flag in slow motion. Sometimes shots just manifest themselves, you can't plan for them they just happen. Superb! One final thing. The sex was real, fuck that's amazing. The passion, the sweating, the true rawness of man sex is palpable to watch. I remember having sex like that with my husband and these guys are actors and very good at what they do. Thanks David

Thanks for the feedback! Marco left for the day after his encounter with Jack. That was Luka sitting up in bed. And yes, the blue light was an ambulance that was called.

I know it cost $150k that you mostly funded yourself. See I listen to your podcast with Mossie and others so I know. But can you do it again and make Season 2 please...

Dear, Davey Wavey. I am so fortunate to have found your content. You are so inspiring and healing. A years worth of therapy could not have facilitated a breakthrough as I have experienced watching your content and listening to your podcast. Your inaugural series “Manchineel King” is monumental; not just to your career, but to the queer community. I just found out about the devotion retreat and I am disappointed I will not be able to attend. I found out about it too late. It really is a wonderful community you have given space to exist. I hope you will consider offering another retreat later this year. Congrats on Manchineel King- it is a masterpiece (i.e., I beg of you, please produce more).
