Smoking-Gun

Added: May 10, 2021 | Runtime: 09:49 | 32,746 views

WARNING: This video contains imagery that some viewers may find disturbing, triggering or sensitive including images of simulated sexual violence. Viewer discretion is advised.

Our physical bodies are receptacles of ideas, most of which are not our own. We are literally shaped by the fears that we house in our flesh, behaving exactly as we have been told. We are the collective embodiment of words, thoughts, and cultural intentions, a clash between compassion for and dominion over the very ground of our experiences--our bodies.

At some point along our journeys, we may become the writers of our own narratives. To do so, we must intensely examine how we think and how we cut off parts of ourselves and others so that we may belong or gain traction against the pain that gnaws us.

The imagery depicted in this film is NOT about sexualizing violence. On the contrary. It is a dramatization of our contemporary queer male ecology, exaggerating the hierarchy that has invaded us as well as the subsequent ways in which we may inadvertently serve the dark side of patriarchal power. Make no mistake: the ideas we host, the judgments we cherish, and the internal violence to which we agree are no less destructive than guns and knives.

We invite you to cease fire and make this commitment to yourself: the war stops here.

For me, this has no place, I understand why it has been produced. Showing other sides of life, including implied violent acts and threats so common in many peoples lives. The contrast to so many of Himeros' beautiful and inspired productions is stark, and for me unwelcome.

The claim that this video doesn't sexualize violence is absurd.

Guys, I see why you needed to put a disclaimer up but actually I found nothing offensive about the video at all. To me it was a bunch of guys role playing. Yes it depicted violence but it was just a fantasy between the guys. There was no violence and they, including the victim were enjoying the so called forced sex. In fact some of the sucking scenes were actually tender. The fucking wasn't aggressive either. I saw no brutality really at all. Finn, it was a bold concept but you pulled it off. I am sure there will be many opinions on this but for me personally I found it hot and once the sex started it was actually enjoyable to watch. But that being said I was not looking at it as actual violence, but role playing right down to the rubber knife and plastic gun.

Yes a very provocative movie for sure, but Himeros has pushed me out of my comfort zone before, and I am still here. After reading the concept again after I watched the movie, I think I get the intent there is still use small part the I don't think i fully understand the intentions of. Why lick the cum off the weapons, it was almost as if they were being redeemed to re weaponize again. Just my thoughts. Looking forward to Fridays conversation.

The big question here is why? What were you thinking? Regardless of your intent and what you tried to communicate; the historical and direct symbolism of the images cannot be ignored. As with the triggering associations of a man tied to a fence like Matthew Shepard, this cannot be disasociated from negative and evil meanings and history. Unlike the words queer and faggot, these images cannot be reclaimed and transformed into a source of power and pride.

Nope. Clearly (at best...) erring on the side of delusional grandiosity in artistic and intellectual expression. I renewed my subscription for a second year because some of the videos (especially the ones free of those cringeworthy, extravagant whispered intros) are some of the most arousing and inspiring creations out there in porn. I'm also glad to see a diversity of body types getting it on in couplings that seem to present authentic pleasure, which is the diametrical opposite to the silly loops presented by some of those studios with gorgeous college men who obviously are having sex for the money and/or because it's an additional workout. But as much as I appreciate the craft of most Himeros videos, some of them just go too damn far with the pseudo philosophy, the nihilism, etc., and in one case, partisan electoral politics that I really didn't need to see seep into porn. This one tho', gals and guys...? A big L. Eroticism involving any kind of threat is the fruit of psychiatric pathology. Yes, I said it. The "50 Shades" and other silly "art" valourizing violence in sex are toxic. If there's severe domination/submission, any violence (enforced or threatened, enacted or mimicked), etc., the sex is absolutely not the product of Homo Sapiens' natural erotic evolution. All that stuff does not belong under the umbrella of pure, spiritual, superior sex, which I thought was the kind of sex advocated by this studio.

Sorry BIG turn off for me and I certainly don't understand the concept? Makes me feel very uncomfortable.

I totally get that. I'm not comfortable watching this video, either. But as a producer, it's not my job to make videos that make the entire audience comfortable. Most important conversations (and any good art), is going to evoke deep feelings on many sides. But it's my hope that Himeros.tv can be a place for us to have difficult conversations.

I'd recommend checking out this week's episode of Himeros LIVE... We do a deep dive into the genesis of the concept with Finn: https://www.himeros.tv/members/scenes/Smoking-Gun-Himeros-LIVE_vids.html

When the video started I was honestly a bit shocked and scared. The gun in front of the man’s mouth and the knife round the man’s neck were a bit disturbing. I was thinking, were these weapons real or props? Was anyone going to get hurt? About halfway in it became more apparent that this was kind of a role-playing fantasy and that the weapons were indeed props. I think the trouble I had while watching this video was that I wasn’t sure what I was suppose to feel. I initially had a knot in my stomach but then eventually I started seeing the eroticism between the roles of each of the actors and admired the level of professionalism and video production value that Himeros videos always provide. As a result, I never got hard from watching the men have sex but I did begin to think about a situation where I might like play out this role-playing fantasy and how I would control that situation and allow only certain trustworthy people to join me. This video isn’t my favorite, however It does raise a conversation that most people aren’t willing to talk about. I have a feeling many people aren’t going to like this video because of its face value which is a shame because there is a deeper meaning. I’m going to watch it a few more times to see if I can gather more from it.

I understand some of the negativity regarding this video and what it portrays and I do not condone violence of any type. But that being said I have seen violence in mainstream movies and even on network TV that would make this video look like a Disney movie and yet we watch them, brutality and all. As far as a sex scene I remember an episode of OZ where an inmate shoved a spoon up another inmates ass. He screamed his head off. Of movies I have seen this one is quite tame. I saw no one beating the shit out of anyone. I did not see anyone brutalizing the so called victims ass or choking him or anything else. The language was not even that harsh. In fact the victim did not appear in this video to be traumatized at all. Some of the sex scenes seemed quite gentle. Even the fucking wasn't done with the intent to cause pain. To me it was just an acting scene and the violence was not intentionally severe, or the actors did not know how to portray violence very well. Those mainstream slasher movies are the types that make me cringe. This was a very mild movie guys, violence wise. The rubber props also made it mild to me. I did not get freaked out at all by this movie. I do understand and respect everyone's opinion but while this was by far not my favorite Himeros episode, it did not bother me either. Himeros took a chance with this movie and I think Finn pulled it off. Would I want to see more segments like this? No, but Himeros being who they are take on challenging topics and I respect them for that. I think the podcast will also explain Finn's intent of the movie. While I don't know Finn, he seems to be a very compassionate and caring man and I don't think he is the type that would do anything to offend people. I believe he will explain the video to make people understand the intention of it and you may see it in a different light.

I thought this was v It is not for everyone and that it was interesting and had no problems with it. I thought it was very hot and a good BDSM scene. It is not for everyone, but that is why there are other videos here.

This just clarified my limits; if I were to be turned on by violence with dangerous weapons in sex I would check out what might be in my subconscious mind that impulses that. Not a moral judgement....just plain dangerous and on the pain side of things. This one I will not watch again.

Was this sex safe, sane, and consensual? Certainly on the set it was. But as a story, there was no backstory. This film and a snuff film were someone gets killed in the end could start the same way. I did worry about the man doing the oral sex on a gun could be shot and killed. I blame the writer and director for this. It might have taken 5 minutes to create the backstory, but that would have have made things clearly safe, sane, and consensual. Something like, "Hey, Pete, I just got these 2 uniforms at Good Will for $2, you play the private, and we catch married guy Jimbo with a homo mag during inspection. We will teach him our policy about catching married guys with very gay porno." And then Jimbo says, "Could we make it a bit more edgie and trantric using a blade?" I would have made sure the blade was always pressing against skin (and sometimes deeply pressing). Personally, I would have skipped the gun and gone all blade as I find guns just kill or main in our culture so have too many negative connotations. And the ending scene could have used a line like, "So are you going to be a good, faithful husband to that bitch, or can I fuck you whenever I need a fuck whether you want to be fucked or not?", and when he licks the cum off the blade, you have resolution.

Want to read all of the other great comments/posters here, but not right-off so as to not be influenced. This is a great piece, reminds one of CAZZO FILMS "Rasberry Reich," i.e. a general theme at Cazzo, one of my favorite producers. They're original, they surprise you - there's sex when you don't expect it (which is highly effective), there isn't sex when you most want it. This piece has all of that and a lot more. Tremendous amount of work went into making this. But a minute in I'm like gasping, just on the edge of my seat. Loved it. Will be back to do something more thorough - just so pleasantly-surprised with HOW this opens.

ALSO reminds me of the great Falcon classic(s), re: Abduction i, Abduction 2 and Abduction 3. A knife to one's neck. Removing us from the act, the responsibility - maybe even the guilt. As always beautiful men, bodies, cocks. CAZZO FILMS also uses things like guns, knives - to increase eroticism, i.e. the increased danger on TOP of the rape. I can't say WHY something is hot, I can only take stabs at it. But it's the writing and directing UNDERNEATH, plus the ALWAYS tremendous SCORE, music SFX - just another Himeros classic. Each one hotter than the one before. Standing ovation.

Great comment by Doug, also a great ending solution: (licks the cum off the blade) I personally didn't mind the gun, nor the theme. But maybe it's been too much Cazzo Film, too little Himeros. Like a lot what Cazzo does - and there's also a huge stress on kissing in Cazzo films, filmed very up close and erotic. Long periods of it that get more and more intense. Kissing the way kissing is meant/supposed-to-be. Great piece, haven't even finished it yet - came here to extol its' virtues. Hot. Very very hot.

Love the editing from 30 seconds to about a minute - i.e. quick escalating shots. (Eventual) Eager participation always works for me, i.e. an abhorrence (of the Penis/Act), to grudging reluctance - to absolute Hunger.

What ALSO works for me at about the two minute mark: The DANGER is no longer relevant -- only the Cock. The Cock takes precedence over Death/Violence. The acting terrific, but then it always is at Himeros. Very professional, porn as porn should be, so good you have to watch it in sections, in pieces. To admire, be drawn in, taken over. The men are all SO good in bed, they must be at some of JASON'S seminars! (will miss the upcoming Seminar due to teaching commit).

WOW! Just watched this again. Reading the intro "...the ideas we host, the judgments we cherish, and the internal violence to which we agree are no less destructive than guns and knives..." pretty much lays it out that this film isn't to be taken literally. I never thought the sub was in danger, nor entertained that the gun or knife were real. I do know that role playing put's me in touch w/ my darker side and I applaud Himeros for going there! The sex & filming were hot, pulsing, even tender ...victim AND victimizers kissing, getting off, certainly pleasure-based sans the rampant violence found on cable programming. (& most everywhere). As Himeros grows, it's nice to know this team is committed to pulling back the veil on one dimensional representations of gay sex, relationships, & reflecting the complexities that lie within. Everyone should have a place at the table of imagination, minus the censorship.

I appreciate where this film idea came from. I grew up around guns and the one thing that is predominant in all exposures was that you always treat a gun as if it were loaded. The first part of the film showing a finger on the trigger while pointed at or in him was very disturbing. This is very bad gun safety. Even though you could see it was not cocked, his finger was on the trigger. Any gun safety course will teach you this is to be avoided unless you are actually pulling the trigger. The second half of the film was hot, triggers clearly left untouched! Concept is fine, details to be watched.

Thank you for this content. For those who have such a strongly violent reaction, I’d invite you to listen to the discussion video on this. This was provocative, and this sort of honest look at how men inhabit and sexualize violence as normal rarely happens in the porn that we consume on a daily basis. This video made me intensely uncomfortable at times, and I have a visceral reaction of fear in response to knives being used like this, but that’s just a conditioned response and does not prevent me from watching this and contemplating the emotions and feelings this video provoked. With regards to the idea of “pure, spiritual sex” being “superior…” Spirituality for many is not just about soft lighting and candles and yoga. There is a heavy value judgment inherent in that concept, which may or may not be a good or bad thing, but it is one that writes off a lot of people’s experiences as invalid or defective or worthless. A person may perhaps not have a problem with declaring themselves or their ideas as superior to other people’s, but it doesn’t strike me as a particularly spiritual viewpoint. I mean, I could be totally incorrect - religions have chronically declared their way to be the superior way through most of human history. It just doesn’t jive at all with my spiritual life, and it depends on a hierarchy that seems quite far from Rumi’s field out beyond the ideas of rightdoing and wrongdoing. There are probably just as many ways to be spiritual as there are humans. Spirituality can be dirty and messy; I’ve been a guest in Indigenous sweat lodges where the sensual experience has been earthy, muddy, literally filthy, and purging - I’ve vomited and it was an intensely spiritual experience. I’ve worshipped Bacchus on the dance floor at a gay bar. The goddess Hekate is the Eater of Filth. Spirituality can be a place where we confront ourselves, our own violent nature, where we can learn to communicate with or integrate the Shadow Self. Sidestepping the messy stuff is spiritual bypassing. To the person who diagnosed pathology in every person who has a weapons fetish - you’d be hard pressed to find any legitimate medical or mental health professional who would automatically pathologize all people who have a specific fantasy… oh wait, they did that with the gays. Never mind! I’d invite you to take a deeper look into your own experience and life and automatic thoughts and the weird crap that you assume is normal, because I can assure you that every human being has weird and deviant and inappropriate thoughts, beliefs, and behaviours. Further, if you look st the DSM, you can pretty much have any behaviour or thought pattern and it’s not considered pathological unless it is interfering with your life and wellbeing (that’s a blanket statement which is a broad generalization, but if a dude gets off on fetishizing knife-play and otherwise leads a healthy, happy life, that's not considered pathological. Being mentally well is not about conforming to a prescribed set of “normal experiences” - in many ways, the attempt to do that DOES routinely create pathology in people.

I took no offense watching this video nor did I associate the violence with somebody that might appear Middle Eastern. To me watching this I just assumed it's for people with a fetish for weapons or control. I'm not into guns or violence but I didn't necessarily I feel that it was that violent. More representation of it then reality. Frankly, the sex was really hot and so are the men. I'll look forward to the podcast. Thank you, Davy and Finn.

As someone who has lived through enough sexual assault that I have been diagnosed with PTSD... a rubber knife isn't triggering.
